Ok so we're not quite finished shopping in London! Of course we couldn't leave London without stopping by Harrods!! This place was a sight to see all on its own! It had everything for women, men, furniture, sports equipment, home wares, toys, perfume, cheese, meat, bakery. You name it, it was there! Naturally we walked through the Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada etc sections where I found great purchases. I said I'd take one of each but apparently my card wasn't good enough :p
After Harrods we jumped on The Tube to make our way to Kensington Palace. Now remember when I said we'd conquered The Damn Tube! Well clearly spoke too soon! We had no idea how to get to High Street Bloody Kensington! (A little elaboration on the name there!) We finally worked it out or so we thought. We jumped on and then someone (not mentioning any Jo names) says I think we need to get off here and change. So we jump off and of course it's an above ground station so it's blooming cold (you can see a forehead slap coming here) and then realise that we should have stayed on that train. Oops! So we sit there waiting for the next one going our way. After about 30 minutes our train comes along and we are frozen to the core. We jump on and oh no we're still going the wrong way! So we get off at the next station and catch the one going back. Again we're above ground but thankfully a new train came rather quickly. Jump on that one and.....oh no there's something wrong with a train up ahead so there's massive delays on this line. Argh! By now I'm getting forehead slapped every 10 minutes! So we get back to the next station and we're on a different platform! But guess what?! That's where we should've been all along!!!!!! Oh my gosh! We had been sitting on the other side all that time in the freezing cold watching trains coming and going for half an hour all the time it was the train we wanted! Oh boy I was in BIG trouble! After that it was smooth sailing to Kensington Palace. We got to go in and see the Queens Apartments, where Queen Victoria was born and lived. Where Queen Anne lived. And also the Kings Apartments where people would request an audience with the King. It's pretty special to be able to walk through those places where Kings and Queens had walked before you. Although I have to say, it could've been cause it was winter, but Kensington Palace had a dreary feel about it. Anyway after that we made our way home. It was long with all the delays on The Damn Tube, as it's now known, but we eventually made it!

Bev Hale It's 20th here, so no doubt you are reluctently dragging your feet towards Heathrow, BUT, the snow, etc is playing havoc with everything, so I read in the NT News today. The NT News is infamous for it's front page croc stories, but it could have got it correct re weather in the UK!!!! Safe travelling home, and many thanks for sharing this trip with us all. Go IT!!!!!
