This morning we were dragging our heels a bit! We've just finished a 24 day tour plus the 5 days we spent in Paris. We were feeling a little tired, a little cranky and sick of getting up early. But we got up, fought the battle with the shower, had brekky and with no plan at all jumped on the bus and headed out into the bustling world of London. First stop was the Natural History Museum. How can you not be in awe of the creatures that have walked the earth, the development of humans from babies to adulthood. It's certainly fun to explore these things. We then popped in to catch up with Queen Liz at Buckingham Palace. It's surreal to think that not that long ago I was watching that very spot on tv and saw that very balcony where Will and Kate stepped out and kisses after they were married! I was a tad excited! After that we went to Parliament Square where we saw the Houses of Parliament (just jaw dropping architecture right there) and Big Ben. Big Ben actually gets his name from the 13 tone bell inside. While we were here we also went into Westminster Abby which was another exciting moment but sad as well. Again we got an audio guide which told us about the Abby as we walked along. There were many Kings and Queens buried here and many sad stories about the people there. Sad might not be the right word but there hard times for them. After the Abby we headed off the see St Paul's Cathedral which is a huge church! It was absolutely beautiful. Also the place where Prince Charles and Princess Diana were married. I was in awe, driving around this magnificent city! So much history, so much to see! I can't wait to get in as much as possible! Today we even braved the cold, the rain and the snow! We weren't giving up. We headed home content with our achievements but hopeful to squeeze in more tomorrow looking forward to the warmth of our hotel room and some tucker. We forgot to have lunch! Silly people when will we learn! The lovely housekeeper left the window in our room open so our room was chilly...oh and the heater isn't working. Oh dear. That's ok I'm in London :D nothing's going to dampen my spirits. So with my pjs, two jumpers, two pairs of socks, beanie and gloves, I climbed into bed and had sweet dreams of this great city! xoxo
