Day 7 - Stone town
Got back on the same boat that we took the night before to the campsite and back to the port. Pete went to organise everyone's tickets to Zanzibar and then we had to try and board the boat. It was a bit hectic and stressful but we got on and got a seat. I got a bit sea sick on the way so was glad when we arrived after 2 hours. Straight away we could tell we loved Zanzibar. We were in stone town, which is lovely. It has lots of old buildings and no pavements, just tiny little roads between the buildings so walking about is an experience. We arrived and went straight out for lunch, which we had to pay for this time so were allowed to choose ourselves. Pete went on about his favourite restaurant and how good it was so we all ended up going there. It was a really nice Indian restaurant but after a while we figured that Pete might be getting commission, and that it wasn't actually his favourite. Afterwards we headed to a place which has a rooftop bar to watch the sunset. It was very fancy with a lovely view over the sea. We had a coconut breeze, which turned out o be a disgusting cocktail made inside a coconut. So after that we had some tanazanian beers. We then headed along to a night Market which was full of food stalls. We went for the seafood stall and I had some king prawns, lobster, mussels and coconut bread. Michael had tuna, barracuda and marlin, and he said they all tasted the same. After that we were full and tired so had another early night!
