Day 8 - nungwi

Got up and had breakfast at our hotel in stone town. We put our luggage in one van which Pete drove up to nungwi while we went in another van to the spice fields. The spice tour was included but was a load of rubbish, we were really bored. The guide was taking us around the spice fields telling us how each one is grown and letting is taste them. He said "tasting is believing" about ten times, then forgot to mention that one of them was not to be tasted, only smelled. So me, Michael, and two other guys put it in our mouth and started chewing, then he told us! So we spat it all out and our mouths had been died orange, it tasted disgusting and everyone was laughing at us. The guide said "don't worry, it won't kill you but......" and never did finish that sentence. After walking around they took us to the fruit section where we got to try everything. This was a bit better because we were all starving and we could have some oranges and mango. We then watched a guy climb a really talk coconut tree, he went up really quick and was showing off a bit by singing and doing some tricks at the top of the tree. The men who work here then came over and they had been busy making us all hats and necklaces and handbags from banana leaves. So eventually we were back in the van and headed north to the beach. We were starving when we arrived so dumped our stuff and headed to the beach front to eat. It was stunning! I have never seen a beach so white with water so clear. So after we ate we got straight in the sea to cool off which was lovely. We chilled out all day here, some of the guys were playing volleyball, but two of the people on the tour, including Henrik the birthday boy, stood on sea urchins. After we got ready we headed out for dinner and drinks to celebrate Daniels birthday. We sat at a bar on the beach which had a bonfire going and some good chill out music, we felt like we were back in Ibiza. After a few drinks here we made our way to a cheaper bar where we had a great night! We were having drinks, playing pool and dancing until 3am. On the way home we went for a swim in the sea which was absolutely freezing cold and some of The guys decided to get naked haha.
