Lucerne is a city that we should have liked more than we did. The city is on the side of a lake, surrounded by mountains, similar to Interlaken, but while we were there the clouds were so thick that the views were almost invisible. We could appreciate how beautiful the place would be on a nice day but unfortunately were not able to enjoy it for ourselves. From Lucerne we were able to catch a ferry to Weggis, another town on the lake, where we hiked around for a bit and enjoyed some countryside while attempting to glimpse the mountains next to us. This little side trip lifted our opinions of the place but we were a little disappointed that we didn't get to see the true beauty of the Lucerne and that it won't go down in our memories as it should.
