After a 10 hour bus journey, travelling pretty much the length of the North Island we arrived in the capital, Wellington. Then, had to trek a few hills in some bloody strong winds! Apparently they call it "Windy Welly" here.
Not a bad little hostel and have met some really nice people here too. We were orignally staying here for 3 nights and now staying for 6 as my Dad is driving down to meet us...hopefully he'll take us out for meal as we seem to be living on the basics (pasta every nite)!
Alls good tho. Although its a bit windy here, the sun is still shining. We spent our first day having a look round the massive Te Papa museum...as museums go its actually pretty good!
As its the capital, lots seem to be going on. We went to watch a volleyball tournament thats going on on the beach and that night Kirsty insisted that we go watch the local football team, Wellington Phoenix, play against Brisbane Roar. I gave in, so we went along with another guy from the hostel. It was a good laugh, although it wasn't quite Arsenal standard, it wasn't bad! Wellington won 3.1 and 9,000 of us were happy. The local fans are well into it, they even have this random thing at 80 mins they all take their tops off and wave them over their heads! different i spose, but was quite funny!
All for now from Wellington, off to some free gig in a park tonite.
Also, Happy Birthday Josh for Monday!! Have a great day bro.
