We arrived in Queenstown in the late afternoon and wasted no time in going into town to book our skydive! then realised we had two days of panicking ahead of us!
The next day we went for a wonder around the beautiful city, the scenery is amazing, but now realising we are going to see that wherever we go, but it still takes our breathe away.
We took the gondola ride upto the top of one of the various mountains, when we discovered they had a bungy spot up there so went along...just to watch! saw so mant brave, and some not so brave people throwing themselves off the hut! It really made me want to do a bungy but that can wait til Oz (sorry mum)!
The big day soon came around: we had a booking for 10:30am, so went down to the shop where we were to be picked up by shuttle bus, but when we got there they said it was cancelled due to it being too cloudy and could we go back at 1:30pm?! i thought oh my god, im guna have sit around waiting for 3hrs with my nerves growing...which they did!
luckily we went back and got the ok from the weather to go ahead with the skydive..ahh! i was a wreck by this time and started to see cracks in jamies too. when we got to the airfield we got to watch the others before us come down and land, which just made our nerves melt away, seeing those come back safely. We got geared up by our personal instuctors and got safety prepped and then we were away in the plane. There were three of us in the plane and i breathed a sigh of relief when i realised i wasnt going first! i just kept watching my instructors altitude watch go up and up to 12,000feet, then all of a sudden in a rush i was getting strapped up tight to my instructor and the guy whpo came up with us was sat at the open door of the plane, then he was gone! then i was being shuffeled to the door by my instructor, i got into my position, then heard"one, two, three!" and i was out, falling at 240kmph!! was a feeling that cant even be explained or experienced in any other way, and was totally exilarating! would definately do it over and over again.
We spent the rest of the day buzzing and talking our experiences over, and went for a well deserved beer!
