Wipers in CC
The Wipers and I had a plane to catch to Christchurch so I had to say a very sad goodbye to Nan, Darren, Mel, Mum and Dad. We all had a great holiday together and I was jealous that they were all going to fly back first class. I miss them every day and look forward to seeing them in England when I complete bridesmaid duties and we apply for our Indian Visa or if they can visit us somewhere again (Nan?!).
By the time we landed in Christchurch I had just about stopped crying and the Wipers were trying to cheer me up. Chris and Gail had a motel room booked in the centre of CC thanks to Jenny with her new coveted role as chief organiser! The rest of us were stopping at Kiwi's so of course we made our way to the front lawn to sit like bogans (again!) We met up with G&C in the evening for some pizza and they had had a much more civilised afternoon actually visiting the sites of CC.
In the evening some of Kiwi's friends came over for a night of debauchery as we attempted to educate the NZlanders about drinking games. The main lessons we all learnt during the evening was people from NZ suck at the games part of drinking and that James is the new 'Chris' of humming skills!
Kiwi had the day off so he took us on a mini tour of the outskirts of CC. James and Rob and then James and Jenny took Kiwi's Dad's car for a spin. We went, in convoy towards Akaroa for a great alfresco lunch on the brow of the hill. Jenny and I tried to jump out on the boys when we went to take some pictures of the lake but to no avail, they had wandered off the track! We went to Sumner beach for some catch and throwing games (we seem to do this a lot!) where Rob and I were robbed, no pun intended, of the title.
We were all invited to Anna (Kiwi's sister) and Mike's house for a BBQ. We ate delicious food with lovely people. Jenny, ever the child entertainer, made a new best friend in Pippa and we scarred her for life when it all got a bit heated during an intense round of the chocolate game! I hope you like the amazing picture of Rob!

Gail It was a great start to our south island trip and very kind of Kiwis family to invite us into their home! I was very upset tho looking at the devastation the earthquake had had on the city.
