Wipers in Wanaka
Kiwi went back to work and we headed to Wanaka. Kiwi's Mum offered us her house in Wanaka so we jumped at the chance and took the scenic route past Mount Cook. Not only was the scenery breathtaking but there were some beautiful voices to accompany the views. The juicy van came with free live, surround sound music for everyone to enjoy. It came in the form of Les Mis renditions and a mix of Disney soundtracks. We also enjoyed waving to other Juicy Van drivers as if we were part of a not so secret club in our bright green and purple vans!
In Wanaka we went to the a-maze-ing maze where of course we made it into a competition with James and I being crowned as winners. We did have to endure a lot of 'tuts' and comments by other people casually strolling around the maze as we were frantically running everywhere! There was a weird museum attached to the maze that we snuck into and then all admired Chris attempting the puzzles like an endearing child. Even the toilets were interesting and cleverly decorated so Gail got a picture of Jenny and me in hilarious poses. Kiwi's Mum's house is lovely, nicely decorated, modern and spacious. We had a great BBQ with some wine G&C had purchased from the lovely winery on the hill, which had great views across the lake.
The next day we walked around part of the lake and explored the alpine town, with shopping and a good lunch.
