Cairns (06.08.2012): Ouch, 5:30am alarm. A quick change and then a 6am bus ride to Melbourne Airport to catch our 08:50am flight to Cairns arriving at 12:15pm. In 3 hours and 25 minutes we were back in the tropics. YES. Time for suncream, shorts and flip flops again. I loved South Australia and Victoria but it is so nice to be back in the heat. Also it is not too hot - 27 to 30 degrees.

We are now in our fourth state: Queensland. Cairns airport was only 7km from the centre so we managed to get a cheap taxi ride to our hostel: Globetrotters International. Everyone is sat around here watching the Olympics!

We have spent the afternoon looking around Cairns - mainly enjoying the sun. The beach here is not safe due to crocodiles but they have a fantastic manmade beach lagoon pool where we spent a nice hour. We will be exploring the Great Barrier Reef over the next couple of days and cannot wait!

We spent some time checking over the diving operators today and will be making a booking tomorrow thought we might have to go busking to afford it!

Having a lazy night in the hostel tonight. Free wifi!!! Wooooo. The blog is back! I will start getting some photos on now. I have such a back log though!
