On the 10th we set off on our drive of the Great Ocean Road to the west of Melbourne. It is a lovely dirve on winding roads huging the coast line and mountains. We had a look at Bells Beach and Torquay beach which are in Surf Coast Shire - yeap there are lots of shires in Australia. We drove through the rainforest and managed to spot Koala's in the trees which was nice. We finally ended the day in Apollo Bay and found a nice motel to stay in - it was busy as it was the bank holiday weekend for the Queen's birthday. Yeap that's right they get a day off work to celebrate the British Queen's birthday !!! Nice We had a lovely dinner that night - both having fish mmmmm
On the 11th we continued our drive along the road and stopped at Joanna Beach and had our breakfast in a small place called Glenaire. Nice bacon sandwish to wake you up. We then headed on to the 12 Apostles, Lorch Ard, the Blowhole, Thunder Cave, The Arch and London Bridge. These are all rock formations off the coast line which are stunning. It was such a shame beacuse it was really raining so the pictures we got are not as stunning as the one for the blog Will get the pictures added soon. We stayed taht night in Colac a small town on the way back to Melbourne. Had a room with a Spa bath so took full advantage of plunging into a bath!! Nice
