This weekend we decided to head out to the Monarto Zoo. This is where the Adelaide Zoo keeps all of its large animals including Giraffes, Lions, Cheetahs, Rhinos, Antelopes, hyenas, and many more. It is about 1 hour outside of Adelaide and is great as the animals have a lot of room to roam. We took Curtis Alderman along with us and he and Layla had a great time running around the zoo and riding the bus.

After Monarto it was off to Hahndorf and Woodside to see the old German town of Hahndorf and to see the Melba Chocolate Factory. We spent way too much money on some really great tasting chocolate and this ensured a really energetic ride home from the two 8-year-olds in the back of the car.

After getting back to Clare it was time to get to bed so we were ready for the Clare High Pet Show where Layla was going to show Penny.

The Pet Show was a lot of fun on Sunday morning. We put Penny in a milk crate and walked her over to the school. After all of the dogs and cats it was finally time for Layla and Penny to hit the ring. Penny won for Prettiest Bird and got to take home a blue ribbon. It was a very successful day!
