It was a horrible heat today, really sticky and with backpacks on our back as you travel you're just sweating and miserable.
We got to the island for 11ish met by a hotel rep who walked us through town to the bottom of the hill at our hotel.
The room is standard, bug free and equipped with a fan which isn't always enough but it's bearable at the price. The walk to the beach is nice but trekking back uphill not so much anyway ,we get a few hours kip and head out exploring looking for food and trips.
We find a restaurant that looks fairly clean and order (again) the Massaman and Phengnan curry which is tasty. We then walk around pricing up boat trips to where the movie "The Beach" was set but we also want to check out bamboo island for Matt and Jacq wants to see shark point. We head back shattered and chill out but cannot sleep in the heat so Jacq decided we should try to find a bar overlooking the beach party so we can nosey at it. We end up on the beach, at the party with a couple of drinks watching amazing fire tricks. The music isn't really our scene but we actually really enjoy it realising were a bit too quick to judge, the crowd as it's really a good mix of families and couples as well as drugged up clowns.
Walking back Matts priced the Thai writing done with bamboo for Jacq (same message - journey) at 1000 bhat. So with a few beer already down her throat Jacq grabs another beer and decides she wants to get it done there and then, she's been banging on about it for days just needs to brave it now.
The guys at the tattoo shop are great and a half hour later it's done in red ink - shockingly it was nowhere near as painful as Jacq thought it would be (beers though a straw helped) and we grab some pizza and head back crashing for the night with the fan blasting.
