We struggle to get out of bed for 9am - our mattress is amazing proper Tempra style.
Off we head to see San Fran, we catch a bus direct on Geneva street to the fisherman's wharf. It's an interesting ride to say the least - opposite us we have a quite loud and shameless pot head - she's taking each little pot of weed out chatting to her friend and its potent as she has a sniff of each - potent! We spend an hour on the bus and get to see some fairly run-down parts of the city as well as the obviously affluent - it's mad as you never know what's around the corner.
Fisherman's Wharf is easy to find and we meet a rep from the big bus company offering a deal on 48-hour tour tickets $55 each for an hour's free bike ride, a 48 hour hop on hop off bus pass, a night tour and some 7d animation thingy - we snap em up and head for the main depot to collect our tickets for each discovering we also get two tickets to Madame Tussaud's thrown in - BARGAIN!!! Jacqs never been either so she's chuffed!
We jump on the bus deciding as it's 2pm now it's best to do a lap and get our bearings listing what we want to stop at tomorrow - we've settled on Alamo park, Francis ford Coppolas cafe, Haight street, Sosilito and the cable car at Lombard street - agreeing well also find time to hunt down the Mrs Doubtfire house and church from sister act - it's tourist time!!!!
The bus ride is about 3 hours as traffic isn't great and we see so much, the opera house used in that scene for pretty woman, the golden gate national park, Tony Bennetts San Francisco heart and the studios used for Star Wars. It's great! We meet Adam afterwards and head off for dinner to a Mexican restaurant in an area called the mission - all hipster & trendy like. First stop is the bar two doors up for some drinkies and Spring gets in from work shortly after for a martini or three.
The Mexican is fab everyone loves their meal and Jacq tries a new drink (new to her) called a Michigan - basically spicy beer and tomato juice Adam swear as by it for hangovers. Spicy indeed! We have seats outside by the fire - it's lush! We move on vegging out in front of Friends on TV - more of the same tomorrow! :)
