We make tracks Matt stops by the bay for brekkie with a view and Jacq immediately sees a dolphin swimming past - so exciting! There are also seals and surfers in view, it's great!
After a bite it's off to check out Malibu and do some celeb stalking - we find Danny De Vitos Malibu home first - Malibu is stunning the houses are on stilts facing out to see and worth millions - love it! Danny's house is getting a renovation so the pic isn't great - it's a Mexican holding a concrete block with a skip blocking the house :)
We move on driving past Julie Andrews gaf - big place worth big money! And Bruce Willis' Malibu house which we can literally touch, it backs out onto the street but the front is what they pay for the amazing beach views and private beach access :(
So then it's off to see Arnies place - selfish Austrian has a private estate with a forest blocking the view - goin well so far folks! We track down Bill Cosbys house - jackpot! It's gorgeous and so easy to stalk! Right in the corner of Sorrento ... next it's Sylvester Stallones place - what's common over here is for the stars buy up two or three houses and convert them into an estate blocking it all off and creating huge estates, Sly is no fool his place is huge - we can see it through the trees - sounds awful this... but we have no shame.
Spielberg has done he same as Sly but it's pretty private and most we see is a big gate. Not disheartened it's off to find the fresh Prince of Bel Air house .... They knocked it down ... imagine...
So we move on to Jim Carreys - find it with ease, it's massive and Matts tempted to turn his hand to pool cleaning as some staff turn up to the door whilst we watch ... like weirdos. Matts transfixed - he loves Jim but there's no sign of him - his place is also really private, cameras are everywhere he must have great views though as he's on a slope. We reverse to move on and might have driven into a neighbours post box, quick rushed fix up and we peg it....
We drive to Bel Airs East Gate and pass through to he most affluent neighbourhood you can imagine- Liz Taylor, Jennifer Aniston, Michael Jackson and Elvis have lived here. We stop at Clint East woods - it's as you might imagine but better and the gates open!!! It's so Mexican/ Western in its style and we're delighted to be able to see it. We drive to the top of the hill and there's obviously a private event happening in one of the houses, we nearly break our necks trying to look but just get a glimpse of an infinity pool and fountains - so jealous! Matts impressed driving when we see Nicholas Cages home, unusually it is made of bricks most of the houses are shockingly made from chipboard (we watch some being constructed) so those big price tags are not for quality of work folks. Location location location.
We turn to MJs last address in the house he died in as well as where he announced his big final tour - sad moment. There's a plastic 70 year old woman in the corner selling star home maps, she's plastered with more slap than Amy Childs and talks 100 miles an hour about these maps. Jacq found our route so far on line (seeing stars, website, is the perfect stalking tool for celeb addresses) but incase we miss anything we decide to get one $20 though - she does need to be kept in slap though.
We follow a route guiding us from Bruce Willis' LA house - Christina Aguilaras (once the osbornes) - grey stone manor used for Gone with the Wind- Elton John's rental party place- Halle Berrys gaff - the map is rubbish and we resort to the sat nav, the addresses are good except for all the ones that no longer exist frustratingly - Frank Sinatras: knocked down - Eddie Murphys: knocked down - Michael Bubles: impossible to access in an rv, Keanu Reeves: knocked down lol ... Barbie granny needs to update her maps!!
Then we set off back to Malibu shattered - we have a camp site tonight at Malibu RV for only $44, so much cheaper than the standard $65 around here, and it has great views of the beach plus the luxury of laundry facilities
We plot our day tomorrow which is looking good - sure we'll tell ya tomorrow ;)
