Snorkels down, cowboy hats out! With a short drive down the road, we say goodbye to the pristine beaches of cape range national park, and hello to the dry, red dust of the outback, or more specifically Bullara Station.

And what a dramatic change from our recent activities. Bullara Station is a working cattle station (about 100kms south of Exmouth) which provides the opportunity for visitors to stay on the station, and gain an understanding of what it would be like to live and work on the land.

When we arrived, we were advised that the station had only just completed their annual muster, and although there was plenty of room for us (as the station was a million across in size), we would have to share the camping area with the last remaining cattle, waiting to be picked up the next day. Not sure who was more excited, Hunter as a road train was coming tomorrow, or Bec, as she just loves the smell of cattle in the air?

Anyway, after a quick look around the station, and after purchasing the best beef sausages and burgers imaginable (the staff assured us they were fresh, hard to argue with that, being on a cattle station), we decided to check out the station's other talked about attraction, the outdoor shower. No heated towel rack here, although you did have your choice of tree branches to hang you towel! Just four walls, and donkey heated, gravity feed water.

The boys loved it (although had to mind them not to climb to high up the tree, being in the shower and all. Probably would have got some great 21st photos if they had!), but I had the question what would happen if it was raining?

And Coral Bay.

Noting Coral Bay was just down the road, we decided to pack the snorkels (bit of a white lie there, they were still jammed into the back of the car. Knew being slack would come in handy one day) and head over for the day.

Coral bay is a little (very little, I expected it to be much bigger) tourist town along the coast, which has all the usual tourist things which you would associate with the name. Yep, it is a bay with coral!

Probably a bit harsh as you could do other things such as fishing charters or whale watching, but after an afternoons snorkelling, we decided to wrap up our visit to the area and continue heading down the coast to our next destination.
