With tears in our eyes (Bec as a result of being forced out of the spa, and the boys after the hundredth 'one last time' on the pool slide was actually the last time), we have left the Gold Coast and arrived at our next destination, being Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.
During the course of our stay we;
Had a swim at the beach (surprise, surprise)....but it was 30 degrees when we arrived and the surf was talking to the boys
Went and picked up some seafood at the local co op (they have the best prawns and crabs....seriously !!)
Made the best surf and turf for dinner (Bec actually made it...she is sitting beside me as I type and demanded I tell everyone that)
Brought the boys some 'must have surf accessories' to go with their new surfing lifestyle. (None for me, apparently I don't need, can't have as I can't surf..........didn't want any anyway)
Paid a visit to Underwater World where they have the biggest barramundi I have ever seen (amongst other tropical fishy things blah...blah...blah)
Did some nightly exercising/walking (to the local ice cream shops...need to keep up the energy levels for the walk back to the van)
Caught some great waves with the body boards when the surf was a bit rough on the Monday morning (well the boys did, I got wiped out a few times....must be the right to left breaking waves...maybe I'll have better luck on the other side of the country when things are reversed?)
Overall, a great place to stay and would gladly come back.
Our stay from a different perspective
Hunter - I went to Underwater World. There was lots of fish and sharks and there was a big stingray.
Cooper - We went to Mooloolaba, unpacked the caravan and went for a walk along the beach. We then went for a swim at the beach and then walk to the fish market (and yes Aunty Kerry i am taking mum for her walks). We brought local ocean prawns and a sand crab. My whole family shared the crab and the prawns, they were yum!
The next day it was raining and horrible and we decided to go to Underwater World. When we went in there was lots of small sharks and stingrays getting fed. Then we got to touch a starfish, it felt hard and we touched a sea cucumber and it was slimly. We got to see all different kinds of colourful fish , and even a octopus. We then went to watch the seal show they were very funny one even pushed a girl into the water and another thought it was a great white shark. Otters were next to see they kept looking at me. We also got to see crocodiles, turtles, barramundi and great white sharks.
The best part was we were able to walk down the street every night to get an ice cream.
Bec - Diddo what Dad wrote (can you guess she has moved away?)
Speak soon.

Gran & Pop Hitchcock Wow guys....sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Glad to hear you are doing plenty of walking.....although ice-cream might be defeating the purpose a little lol. Oh well life's too short to not eat ice-cream I say:) Coop this blog is terrific and so interesting....I just want to be there with you all. Ian I'm sure your right that the West Coast is going to suit you better but don't give up lol. Love to all...Gran and Pop
