Day 16 Wilderness day 3 We woke up and climbed out of the tent, to a great view of 2 bears running around on the hill in front of us. It was ok as there was a river bed and 2 other hikers in their little yellow tent in between us. We began our walk back to the road, after our ritual washing and collecting water we set off down the river bed. We were nearly at the road when we heard lots of shouting. We turned round and the other hikers were screaming HEY BEAR and flapping about, we then saw a huge bear walking right by them, eek could have easily been us. It didnt even look at them just strolled on by. When we got on the bus we met some fellow wilderness hikers and chatted all the way back. Back at Riley cam[psite we rushed for a shower, then went out for a nice meal but it was crap and expensive. We sat with the american hikers and told them all about Kenai, gave them our map then off to bed for an early night. The next morning we packed up and headed straight for Anchorage as our flight to Honolulu via LA was that night. Boring long day in LA airport as had to keep our luggage.
