Day 12 We woke up early for a shower, queued up and managed to book all of our camping and backcountry permits for the next few days, it was far simpler than we had read, but did forget to put our names on the backcountry list when we arrived (at 7am!) we had a few nail biting hours to see if we got our place but we did luckily. We had to watch the obligatory Bear & Moose safety video and collected our small but heavy bear can before we could leave, it had to carry all our smellies, food, toiletries etc. We bought our camping gas and supplies nearby then came back to catch the slad dog demo. Hilarious mainly due to ¨Hi Iḿ Ranger Pat¨ a tiny bald ranger. Even funnier when the huskies belted off after a squirrel during the demo taking pat with them. Back at the mercantile we went into the laudrette to charge our camera and iPods where we met John and Carol doing the smae thing. We got chatting and picked their brains as they'd been here 6 times in a row. Great advice and even gave us a map of our area. Really nice and friendly couple, we were really glad to find out we would be staying at sanctuary river together the next night. early night, and packed our bear bin which was far too small (Ian was worried about starving to death as opposed to bear attacks!)
