Much as this parrot in the picture above is eating Howie's face, so we have slowly been eating our way through Adelaide over the past few days. Well, I see 'we', I generally mean 'me', and when I said 'Adelaide', I generally mean 'Chocolate Bean'.
Chocoloate Bean is so yummy it is too yummy. On Saturday I couldn't resist, and sampled some of their dark chocolate soup, which was completely delicious. Yesterday, I went in looking for some chocolate mousse, but they had run out. Needless to say, I was quite cross. Nevertheless, I did try a 'chocolate icy', which is not disimilar to a chocolate milkshake, and had some chocolate strawberries as well, but the mousse will definately have to be consumed before we leave Adelaide for good, in only six days time.
The past few days have mostly been made up of work (yes, even me - although doing work for your boyfriend's website is probably not quite the same as going out and finding work, but never mind) and yummy chocolate treats, and yesterday I took an entire afternoon for myself and made the most of cheap cinema Mondays by going to see two films in one day. The wonderful Palace and Nova Cinema in Adelaide does a bit of a bargain Monday, with films for $6 so I took the advantage of seeing Black Swan in the afternoon (my personal verdict is that it was excellent). I then met up with Howie and we had a scrumptious dinner at a mexican place in Rundle Street that does terrific burritos. Naturally, we couldn't be so close to Chocolate Bean without buying dessert, so we got a chocolate ganache tart. And yes, it was both delicious and gone in about 30 seconds. After that, we both went merrily along to see The King's Speech, which was also excellent.
The weather here has gone a bit mad, because it is cold and windy today. I am wearing trousers. My legs are in shock.
Six days left in Adelaide and we're looking forward to upping sticks and moving on. I still have that chocolate mousse to eat, however, and Howie has a Toastmasters speech to give. We're currently still on track for the camper van adventure, so fingers crossed we get a van from Melbourne to Sydney otherwise things might have to change. Argh!
