Where do I begin?
What an amazing day, it was a very emaotional day because we always loved the Crocodile Hunter so much, we felt sad that he wasn't around. On a positive note, his legacy has lived on and they have done an amazing job sharing with visitors how we need to protect endangered animals! It is a clean friendly zoo, that you can feed, pet and learn about lots of different animals.
It is Winter Break for schools here, Bindi and her brother Robert were at the zoo doing a show. Bindi is quite a hero here. there was a good turnout of local families. She is very cute and the whole Family seemed very "down to Earth". Sabrina was very excited and wants to live and work here at the zoo.
We were so excited the other day just seeing a kangaroo, but today we were so surprised we actually got to feed and pet the Rooeys! Another highlight of the day is the wombats! They are so funny and looked just like Conner! They take them for walks around the zoo on leashes! Actually, they walk a lot of the animals, including, leopards, dingos, and even elephants! The trainers swim with the animals, and are even in the water with some crocodiles (not for long!)
We started at 9 am (when it opened) and stayed til 5 pm (closing!) We then went to the Animal Hospital where they help save local wildlife and return them back to the wild. It is quite a facility with lots of Koalas, and other native wildlife that they are saving.
Another fantastic day here...
Mike and I have agreed, we don't want to tell too many people how great it is here...shhh...don't tell...
