Yesterday we started our day back on the beach, Mike had a great surf session and Sabrina and I went for a long walk and we found a starfish, it was washed up in the shore break and she walked it out back into the water to save it! It was so cool because on of the legs wrapped around her fingers as she carried it out!
Later in the day we went into the Springbrook Forrest to see glow worms. After a long drive, we got lost, we finally made it to the Springbrook Glow Worm Research Center. It is an interresting place where a few scientist study lumeniscent mushrooms, fireflys and glow worms! The glow worms are found only in New Zealand and Australia and glowing mushrooms are found only in the Springbrook National Park!. They are studying and testing them for medical research, and hoping to use them in the quest to cure cancer! The Scientist who gives the tour is actually the scientist who discovered them! It was very cool and a little scary because he showed us all the deadly spiders he has also found! We also got a lesson in astronomy last night. It was almost a full moon and there were so many stars out, he showed us how to spot the Southern Cross, which you can only see in the Southern Hemisphere! We also can see the planet Jupiter from where we are located!
Today we drove to the Sunshine Coast, we are staying in Pergian Beach, which is near Noosa. Another beautiful surf town.
Tomorrow is a big day for Sabrina, we are going to the Australian Zoo (Steve Irwin's Zoo), it is the start of the Winter Holiday's for the schoolies here and Bindi is scheduled to be at the zoo!
