Yesterday we had another full day, actually we were so busy we slept late this am!
We started our day checking surf spots. We ended up going to Kurrinbum Beach. It is a great spot that has rocks and a cove. Sabrina and I were out on the rocks looking at tidal pools, and I told her not to go out so far, just as I said that a big wave might come up and knock you down, a huge wave splashed both of us! She was shocked! We were both soaked and we ran to get off the rocks! The camera got wet, but it was fine!
Mike surfed, then we went down to Kirra Beach. We went to a cool surf shop" Kirra Surf" and there is a girl that is a pro surfer and told us that Joel Parkinson, Mick Fanning and others were surfing! We went to Snapper Rocks and watched for a while. (We didn't spot any pros).
We then went for a drive to Byron Bay. By the way Mike is doing and excellent job driving on the left side of the road! He is having problems with the turn signals, he keeps putting the windshield wipers on!
The light house was amazing and we got our workout in, lots of steep steps down to the beach and back! We saw a mountain gaot on a steep ridge and the highlight was seeing migrating whales! We not only saw whales we saw tons of dolphins playing in the waves!
We loved Byron Bay, it is a cool surf town, but we had to drive home, that was a mess.. because we got lost! Only an extra hour of driving, but we finally found our way back!
The sun is out and we are off again...

Jenny I liked the lighthouse pictures....How many surfboards are there in Australia?? There are more surfboards than people here!

Lisa Wow - looks like you are having a wonderful vacation. Loved that pool right on the ocean - very cool. Great picture of the 3 of you from today. We arrived home last night - already miss Europe. Hope we will have the opportunity to visit Australia one day, too. Frank would love the surf - any kiteboarders? Thanks for sharing your adventures!!
