Two days ago, we left Hervey Bay and have been making our way up north through Queensland.
There are photos from Hervey Bay of Mike and Sabrina with a Balinese statue. The photos are real "special!" The hotel we were staying at had a Balinese theme and Sabrina claimed the statue "creeped" her out! Of Course, Mike put it next to her while she was sleeping...They had a contest to see who made the best matching face...Mike won!
Our road trip yesterday was our longest, we needed to break up the trip with something to do, so we broke out the camera for a while! Our driving is nicely documented!
After a long drive we were so excited, we changed latitudes!
We crossed the latitude mark into "The Tropic of Capricorn". How cool is that? We stayed in the Capricorn Coast last night! We spent the night in Rockhampton (know as Rocky here). Before we got to our hotel, we went to the Capricorn Caves. It is a cool area with caves that you get to walk through. We enjoyed it, we only saw one spider...we were looking for bats...evidently they like the Summertime better!
Rockhampton is a strange little town, time has stood still there...the streets look like a horse drawn carriage should be going down the road! We are seeing all kinds of things and look forward to getting to the Great Barrier Reef area.
We are on the road for a few days, internet connections aren't as good around here, so it might take us a couple of days to post...more soon!
