Off to Wellington today...a longish drive, but beautiful weather. Stopped at a town on the way down called Bulls, not much going on there, but it was quite interesting how they used the name of the town in everything. Bank-a-bull, a bakery called Ed-i-bull, Pharmacy called Cure-a-bull...you get the picture. Wellington is a great city, can see why people would live here. We spent the next couple of nights in the middle of the nowhere!! The first night we spent at a place called Blue Duck Lodge, which is an environmentally leading conservation farm. The road leading to it was 45km of very narrow dust tracks with a huge drop on one side. Salty our crazy driver was speeding around all the bends...eeeek!! We wandered round the town of Rotorua today, not much going on unless you are doing mountain biking or white water rafting, but was trying not to spend pennies today. It was a very rainy day, but this didn't stop us putting our bikini's on and jumping into one of the natural hot springs. After the caves we went to a so called 'Authentically' traditional Maori night. I was a little dissapointed with the venue, I expected a traditional Maori meeting house, but instead it looked a bit like a village hall. It was good to see Maori's performing the Hakka and they taught the boys in our group the Hakka too which was hilarious. Today I did a tour of Waitomo Caves called 'Spellbound' with two sweet Welsh girls from my bus. We went to 2 caves and saw loads of Glow worms, they lit up the caves like fairy lights. One of these caves we went to was where they filmed part of a Planet Earth episode. It was beautiful.
