We spent the next couple of nights in the middle of the nowhere!! The first night we spent at a place called Blue Duck Lodge, which is an environmentally leading conservation farm. The road leading to it was 45km of very narrow dust tracks with a huge drop on one side. Salty our crazy driver was speeding around all the bends...eeeek!!
We walked to a waterfall within the 9000 acres of the farmland. Some of the girls on our tour went goat hunting today and brought back their catch from the day for dinner. Apparently goat's testicles are a delicacy...soooo had to try a bit. Tasted like tofu!! The goat leg was nice though. Tonight we stayed in a very cute lodge, played 'Game of Life' and drank wine.
The next day at 7am we head to the National park at the base of the Tongariro mountain, all ready to do our 7 hour walk over the mountain, only to find out that it was cancelled due to bad weather. We would of seen pools of blue water in the volcanic craters, took a photo of a poster of what we would of seen, but I was gutted I couldn't do this hike.
Instead we checked into our cosy mountain lodge (where you could so imagine skiing in the winter), slept and chilled out in the outdoor hot tub...pretty lazy day!!
