Hi everyone,
Well today we have been in WA for 4 months. I don't think either of us belived that we would stay this side of Australia for so long, but we have enjoyed every minute of it. Today is our last day on Broome time. We will be sad to leave Broome, because it is a lovely place to just come and chill, but a week is probably long enough.
We have had a very relaxed week. Been on cable beach most days with people from the tour, catching up on our sun tans. We went to the races yesterday afternoon and had a lovely afternoon. Broome race course is quite small which gave it a really nice intimate feel, the paddocks, parade ring, betting area and course were really close together so it was easy to switch between them all. It was so nice to be around horses again. I came out down on the day, if only Max on Top had come in more than 4th! Rose however came out up on the day, result!
Saturday evening we went to see Staircase to the Moon again, after a failed attempt on Friday because it was cloudy. Which happens ony a few times a year. Its where the moon rises from the horizon and reflects onto the sea, creating a 'staircase'. It was actually quite an amazing experince, there were loads of people on the beach and as the moon started off as a glow on the horizon everyone cheered. Then it rose up into the sky, turnng from orange to white. Its one of those moments that you will probably never see again in your life but you will always remember it. Its a shame the photos don't do it justice.
Today is just going to be another beach day. We are going to spend the whole day there and watch our last Broome sunset with the camels. We fly to Darwin at 9.15am tomorrow morning and arrive in Darwin just after midday.
Will try and update you all before we fly to Bangkok on the 30th. Hope your all enjoying english summer time.
Love Hayley and Rose x
