I awoke to lots of Happy Birthday messages. It is really nice so many people thought of me and worked out the time difference. Today we drove from Vegas past Lake Mead to the Hoover Dam which is built on the Nevada, Arizona border. It was very impressive. The heat in Nevada is hot and even the breeze is hot and dry's your throat. We drove on through Arizona to Flagstaff. The scenery changed dramatically along the way from desert to rocky mountains to forest and the snow capped San Francisco Peaks. The temperature also slowly dropped off from 40 degrees to 25 degrees which is much more pleasant. For a birthday dinner we visited the Galaxy Diner across the road. It was a proper 50s style American diner with live music and booths - a lot of fun.
