Woke to the heat of the morning sun and walked to tulum ruins along with coach loads of Cancun holiday makers and whiney kids. Got soaked by the arrival of a storm, despite sheltering under some palm trees with some resident iguanas - although rain quite welcoming given the heat. Later swam in the sea to avoid rain which was a good plan until the rain became more like hail! Cleared up a bit for a pleasant stroll and cerveza on the beach, followed by a cocktail or 2. Thunderstorm hit during the night though and there were a few moments where we were somewhat concerned for our little cabana. Sound of the waves combined with thunder, lightning, rain and wind was a bit of a knee trembler when under a thatched roof yards from the sea and surrounded by palm trees laden with ripe coconuts!
