Day 4
Iowa is vibrantly green, with a combination of rolling hills, and land so flat you can see for miles. Corn & grain fields & dairy farms. Red wing blackbirds. White Queen Anne's lace & periwinkle blue bachelor buttons line the highway. Everything is so clean; the roads are smooth, very little traffic, the people are friendly, with the cutest accents.
Today our travels (503 miles) included:
Iowa from Davenport to Cedar Rapids to Waterloo, Mason City then up into Minnesota and west on I-90 over to South Dakota, Sioux Falls, ending up in Mitchell, SD at the R & R Campground.
Things that make our long drive days fun:
1. Rand McNally GPS system specific to RV travel- this thing has been incredibly accurate & easy to use, way better than the GPS system in our car.
2. Looking at spectacular scenery; our country sure is beautiful!
3. Dave Barry Insane City, (audio book) kept us entertained for 2 full days. We laughed so hard we are lucky we didn't run off the road.
4. Sirius Radio
1,853 miles so far
Apparently Alaska is REALLY far away

Bill Gryson Just read your comments regarding Iowa. Alice and I met at college in Iowa so we are familiar with this clean and friendly state. We are really enjoying reading about tour travels and you are really covering a lot of ground each day. Stay safe.
