Thank you all for the emails & the messages on our blog. We really love hearing from you. It means so much to us.
Just so you know, we may not be able to reply very often because we can't always get wifi & we need to conserve our 4g use a bit. But we love that you are following our adventure!
Day 3
Got away before 7am -Yay! Well ok, it was 6:55am, but hey, we're making progress in decreasing our time to get it all together & depart.
Mishap # 1: When we started to leave, we noticed our propane cover was gone. Oops, it must have flown off on the highway somewhere! Hope it didn't hit anyone.
We finished with Kentucky, & crossed the Ohio River into Metropolis, Illinois. Our drive along I-55 & I-74 took us by lots of corn fields & wind farms. Smooth trip, very little traffic. We crossed the Mississippi into Iowa and ended a 10 hour drive (460 miles) at Interstate RV Park in Davenport, Iowa. This campground has the cleanest, nicest bath houses we have ever seen. Campsites were surrounded by a wide variety of tall leafy trees. The weather is cool and dry. It is good to be away from the heat in the south.
Mishap # 2: driving to our campsite, we misjudged the rv height- tree branch vs. awning = several rips in awning. Temporary fix = duct tape. Yeah, we're cool . . .

Sally Kiely We passed by some huge wind farms last summer on our trip to Colorado...I think they are quite beautiful!
