M and H off at crack of dawn to travel to Eton for the Olympic rowing. We were not far behind to walk to Hyde Park for the women's triathlon. Managed glimpses of the swimming. Excellent cycling views and a little of the running. Again lovely atmosphere and crowds of people who applauded everyone. Busy morning keeping abreast of the Olympics on the TV and doing a bit of shopping for food. Went by Tube to Somerset House for lunch on the Terrace and did the Exhibitions of Tudor house, Fifty Years of The Rolling Stones and Brazil previewing the next Olympics. Time trials today. Taxi to Waterloo then train out to Esher about half an hour. Lovely atmosphere on station with everyone given free ice creams and ice lollies. Walked a very short distance to the roadside for the women's trials. Really exciting and very supportive. Cheered and screamed for every one but loudest of all for Liz and Emma!!
