Hi Guys
Well we've spent the last few days whizzing around on the moped, checking out a few beaches. There are no traffic lights, roundabouts or give way signs here. So when you get to a junction you just beep your horn to let people know you are there and everyoner just keeps going, slowly (most people) and you weave in and out of each other. Sounds crazy, but it works! There are quite a few speed bumps and lots of pot holes in the roads. There are some particularly horrible triple speed bumps which Graham calls "rumblers". The most dangerous things on the roads here are the dogs and cows!
We went to Chapora fort a few days ago. It was a great climb, which Graham managed in flip flops! I found a frog in our toilet a couple of nights ago. We think we must have left the toilet seat up and the frog climbed in through the window, thinking he'd found a nice pond! It scared the life out of me. Graham had quite a struggle getting it out as it climbed up the bowl and squeezed itself up the rim! He eventually picked him up using his sock and put him outside.
Just had breakfast/brunch in our usual bar. It's great watching all the mopeds and moterbikes drive by with people going to the beach, along woth all the cows going by too. They tend to go down to the beach for the day and then come back into town when the sun goes down - so like us!! Yesterday we had great fun watching a cow stealing peoples food off their sunbeds when they weren't looking. Some stupid tourists had fed it earlier, so then it attracted it to try and find more. Generally they don't bother you - if tourists don't feed them. We also found a beach up the coast with no cows, as you have to cross wooden foot bridges to get there (which look very unsafe) so the cows can't get to it!
Had some great curries in the last few days - and so cheap! In answer to your question Ian, we've only found one bar that does draught beer, and it is about 95p for a pint of beer. Graham did have a couple of bottles of Budweiser on the beach yesterday and they were about 70p each.
Going to do some walking today, hopefully to find where the fishing boats come in to land. Then planning to hire a Scooter again for the next few days and do some more exploring further afield.
Well, that's all for now folks. Oh, by the way, it's still really hot here! Graham is going browner and I am going pinker!
