Well, we like Goa so much we have decided to stay another week! Over the last few days we have seen our first snake. I thought a man was running at us with a stick to attack us, but he was just after the snake luckily! We have hired a moped, which is great fun. Graham is really loving driving it, particularly going off road, as there are few rules here. Some peolpe even drive through the market! We have no helmets and you are supposed to drive on the left, but most Indians ignore this rule and spend much time on the wrong side of the road beeping their hornd a lot. Graham is enjoying joining in with the beeping!
We went to Ashvem Beach yesterday and today we went to the Anjuna Market. It is a massive flea market selling everything. I know so many of you that would love it. All we bought was a silver ring for Graham, as we left our wedding rings at home and wanted to buy a cheap alternative for travelling. We bought it from a section of the market which seemed to have stalls owned by only Oriental people and we found this much more relaxing as they don't hassle you to buy things. The Indian sellers should really learn something from them as they pester you constantly!
We spent this morning trying to book train travel for the next few weeks. This took some time (things move slowly in India) but we did it in the end. So we shall be moving down to Alleppey in Kerala after a week (a dviersion from our original plan) then back to Goa for 6 nights, then to Mumbai for 2 nights, then to Jaipur to start our exploration of Rajestan. We could only book sleeper class to Krala and back, then 2nd class to Mumbai, but we managed to get 1st class to Jaipur. So we are starting at the bottom and working our way up. We managed to get all overnight trains, so will keep you updated on how that goes and on the different classes of travel! All 4 train journeys for the 2 of us came to about 150.00GBP which is great as it iss also 4 nights accommodation.
Hope all is well back home.
