Breathing a sigh of relief we left Miami en route to The Keys. Both Nick and I had this picture in our heads of a picturesque drive with small towns breaking up the route - we were wrong!
It's hard to describe really, just one long road with boat yards and restaurants and hotels lining each side. A rare sight of the sea every now and again was welcome and we did stop at a few state parks to have our first game of FrizzBall of 2013.
A picnic at one of these parks saw Imogen style picnicking where she stood on the picnic bench to avoid anything that might eat her alive (this from a girl who wants to go to Costa Rica next year)
Arriving in Key West we have another nice hotel room. We've walked up Duval Street this evening and ducked into a few shops to cool down. Finding a spot at Mallory Square for sunset we got talking to a family who gave us a top tip of where to sit for a less crowded sunset - perfect! We even had our own guitarist playing softly as the sun went down.
