Had a wonderful day in Sedbergh today.
We started out playing with Louis, Sam and Millie. They let William feed their chickens and play on their swing and trampoline. They also invited him to sleep over in their tent, but we decided he was possibly a little young yet.
Then we went to steadmans, the best butchers in cumbria and possibly the World, where we got pies to take over to the Moss's. This is an incredibly important tradition known as 'pie club' which Matt has sorely missed.
I have missed the incredible fresh pressed apple juice in the green grocers, but that's another story...
We spent some time fishing in the Moss's pond, and Will played in their tree house, then we headed down to the river rawthey for a lovely morning swimming and riding the rapids on a windsurfing board.
Elle fell asleep on the way and enjoyed a rest on a rock most of the time, but woke up for a little while before we left.
Then we were invited to Bennett's 'penthouse' for tea. We'd not seen his new place, and he's got several new fish tanks which completely hypnotised both children. Elisha kept miming eating the fish, which was slightly concerning, but Will was very good and even got to stroke a turtle and a catfish.
The children were asleep within 2 minutes of heads touching pillows and Matt is now out meeting up with some old friends in the 'dalesman'.
A lovely day!
