We have just had the most incredible stay at Hockwold Hall Estate Bed and Breakfast.
It's our 7th wedding anniversary, and also my 30th birthday next week, so my wonderful husband extravagantly decided to whisk us both away for two nights. Not currently having a passport (it was stolen) it was no hardship to stay in England though, as the weather was stunning and it meant that I felt confident to leave the babies, knowing that we could get home in a couple of hours if there was an emergency.
Hockwold hall is genuinely one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. The estate boasts 42 acres of land, and 4 of these are beautifully landscaped gardens and orchards.
Taking breakfast outside and listening to the fountain is a wonderful way to start the morning and an evening glass of wine in the orchard or the rose garden is the perfect way to finish the day.
There is also a floodlit tennis court and a snooker/pool room, although it was too hot for sports whilst we were there!
The drawing room even has the same Laura Ashley 'Summer Palace' Wallpaper that I want to decorate Lila's room with.
The owners were so welcoming and hospitable, even catering to my crazy dietary requests with no fuss.
It's been such an amazing time, we are planning to make it our annual anniversary retreat :0)
On the second day, we also made it over to Aqua Sana to spend a day or pampering and lounging in the pool.
What an incredible break.
Don't forget to check the photo album for more beautiful pictures :0)
