Planned to stay in a hostel so that I could do some laundry but ended up sleeping in the car park of the Connemara National Park visitor centre with large feral goats roaming around.
It was handy to have a coffee and a tasty warm scone in the morning and a short walk where Sach and made friends with some Connemara ponies. There was also a bog museum!
As usual mountains and views but there were also some pleasant towns like Westport and Clifden and plenty of tourists for this time of year.
I've lost the thread but the next night I camped down a track in a farmers field and woke up surrounded by sheep.
Very prominent in this area is the 742 metres high Croagh Patrick. At one spot was a shaman tree where people had hung up ribbons but also knickers and glasses!
The water in the inlets was like glass.
Along the way was a fancy adventure resort so I thought I'd go in and ask about the wild Atlantic way. I drew a complete blank from the girl at reception, yet all their advertising contains references to it.
