Peace in Patnem: After our hectic couple of nights with the boys in Agonda it was a welcome change to make our way to Patnem for a few relaxing days on the beach. Having decided that this time we would haggle our way to better priced accommodation, Debs and I set forth onto the beach, leaving Rach in a café with the bags. Two seconds later, and with feet that had literally been scorched to cinders on the sand, we settled for Tantra beach huts and haggled our way to a 0% reduction in cost. The manager of these beautiful beach huts and restaurant was Shaan who, over the next few days, became a brother from another mother to us. I think we all agree that our time in Patnem was by far the most memorable to date - the beautiful beach, the wonderful people, the incredible sunsets, the delicious food, the toxic cocktails which sent Rach into a coma and the general atmosphere made us never want to leave. We stayed for 4 more days and fully intend to return next year to see the Tantra family…
