Is that a knife in your pocket or are you just pleased to see us: The roads in Goa are not a place for the faint hearted. In fact they aren't a place for civilians, pigs, cows and more often than not other vehicles. Our first experience of Goan transport was from the airport to our hotel and a time for sight-seeing it was not. They shunt, swerve, stop, overtake and BEEP at every occasion (video evidence to be provided). Our taxi on New Year's Eve back to a friend's house was one of those moments we won't forget in a hurry. Having got caught up in possibly the world's most unorganised traffic jam, a truck who had been following us closely tried to overtake our taxi and got wedged between us and the oncoming traffic. Before we knew what was happening our extremely angry taxi man had taken a knife out and was about to get out the taxi and presumably attack said truck driver… luckily Smiley (one of the guys who was in our taxi) managed to diffuse the situation and calm our taxi man down. 3 hours later we were watching the New Year sunrise whilst lounging around a pool, drinking rum with the nights scare already a blur…
