Geoff N Jan Cagney's Travels
Arriving in town we were welcomed by the dust. In our eyes and at the back of our throats. I think more from the dry earth than from the mine, although this is so close to town. We saw the underground hospital built incase the war came but luckily it was never required. The underground mine tour was fantastic. The real mine can be upto 3km down and in some places four lanes wide. The lookout gave views of Xtrata and a few other mine sites around the town. We also enjoyed lunch at the Buff Club (home of the local AFL team).
