We are in the best place in the world at the moment - Pai. We could easily live here. It's a very small town & is just like Glastonbury festival. It's full of Japanese Rastas (!?) & local & western hippies. Brilliant. There's just one kind of main road with stalls & shops selling all kinds of crafts & clothes, handmade jewelery & shoes. There are restaurants that do vegetarian food & falalfels! We are staying in a hut a short distance out from town, We've hired a motorbike for the entire time we've been here to get about. One night we stayed in quite an expensive hut with an ensuite bathroom & lovely quiet surroundings but we decided to go cheap for the rest of our stay. We took a trip up to see the elephant camp on the bike yesterday. They look massive compared to the one we had a ride on! Also they just let you sit right on the elephants back instead of a chair kind of thing so it looks alot more fun!

Don't tell us off Mums but we got tattoos here! They are both Thai designs & were done with bamboo instead of a machine. Charlie's is at the top of his arm and mine is on the sole of my foot (alot of pain to go through for something that's never going to be seen!). They are really nice detailed pictures, you can get a lot of detail as the bamboo is so small. I didn't think that I wouldn't be able to walk properly for 2 days & this morning I fell off a log step getting out of our cabin & have now got grazes up both my legs & limping because of my tattoo too!

We have two more days in Pai before we leave, we would love to stay longer but have to squeeze in Chaing Mai & Kanchanaburi before we meet my friend, Helen, in Bangkok on the 19th.
