Hello,
Today has been a really busy one, we have driven around 285kms!! We started early driving from Cape tribulation on the Inland Road. We stoped at Mossman Gorge which was gorgeous and has big boulders and lovely walks! We then drove on to the Atherton Tablelands, through Mariba! We stopped at Lake Barine, where we saw giant trees absolutely huge Kauri Trees. It was gorgeous here and we stopped for a scone and a cup of tea over looking the lake. On from here we saw amazing scenery and had to keep stopping to take piccies. We went right into the mountains covered in rainforest above all the mist and clouds - stunning. We then stopped at a giant curtain fig tree which again was spectacular. The drive back from here was a bit hairy as it is the curviest road i have ever driven down. Amazingly this took us all day back to Cairns.
We then called into an info centre where I booked to do an introductory scuba dive on the great barrier reef tomorrow! I am very nervous as G didnt want to do it so am going on my own. It is an all day trip to te outer reef and you dive with guides etc. Where we are diving is very near Flynn Island!!! I also drove past Flynn's Restaurant haha! and they love Katie Stores!! G is going to wander around Cairns tomorrow and do a bit of exploring! Tonight we are at a busy caravan park, slightly different to being the only ones there!
We are having a few problems uploading photos as computers are slow and alot dont have java downloaded - grr! We are kicking ourselves for not buying a netbook as soo many places have free wi-fi, and most other travellers seem to have them! the price of a netbook wouldprobably equal our internet bill at the end of the trip - oh well!!
