Hello,

Been quite busy the past few days, we went to Townsville which was lovely, along a road called the Strand, very LA it felt! They had a massive swimming rock pool which we used and also a nice walk along the seafront. We went from townsville to magnetic island by ferry yesterday. Absolute paradise and a wonderful place to live. Here we relaxed by ourselves on beaches and swam the sea. We forgot our picnic so had to eat out - what a shame even though it was only a cheese toastie. We then went to the otherside of the island to picnic bay, where again we had it to ourselves apart from a wallabe that decided to join us. We then did a 6km walk back to the ferry terminal ready for the beginning of the sunset onboard.

Unfortunately we had to stop halfway as someone had had a boat accident on their yaught, the sail had collapsed and a lady had been hit by the boom and couldnt move her back or neck! Pretty scary, their lifeguards and sea rescue were crap and didnt turn up so the ferry had to phone an ambulance etc and go to the shore to pick them up and then go back to the boat! Not like our RNLI!!

Anyway from here we headed out of townsville to a tiny town called Ayr! Bit scary driving at night here!

Today we headed further south, we went to a scenic lookout up a moutain and ate brekkie, it was immense, such a view! Even better as it is sunny here! We then went to Bowen where alot of the fiolm 'Australia' was filmed! Had a little sunbathe before heading on to Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays which is where we are now. We have booked on a 2night sailing tour around the Whitsundays, which although it is breaking the budget slightly, has been said to us on many occasions that it is a must-do!
