Last night we stayed with some friends that Rob worked with at Stanborough School in London during 2006. It was our first night staying in a house rather than a motel since we've been on the road, so it was a fresh change. Today we didn't do very much at all. Had a great sleep-in and played some xbox for a lot of the day. I know it sounds like a waste of time, but we needed the vege time! We went out for dinner in the evening with our hosts and had Mexican…afterwards we got a shake from a place called Icebergs - very niiice!
After dinner we went over to WWU and had a wander through the campus as we had only driven past yesterday. It's a cool campus. It differs from Avondale in that WWU is like the main centre of the city of College Place, and the rest of the town is built around it. It'd be like if Avondale was in the middle of Morisset and you could just drive around the campus on normal public streets.
Anyway, while we were wandering around we noticed there were a lot of students walking toward a space beside the WWU swimming pool complex, so we followed and found it was signup night for all the clubs/groups and associations to do with WWU. There was everything from sporting clubs, to student missions and outreach groups, to language clubs, and so much more. It was really good to see the diversity and magnitude of the groups on offer here.
