In the morning we took to the road again and headed south-east from Vegas out to Hoover Dam - once the world's largestelectric-power generating station. As you drive down towards the dam the first thing you notice is the massive new bridge bypass they are building across it. I'm not sure when they plan on completing construction, but it's going to be pretty epic once they are done. You can, however, still drive across the dam wall, and that forms the border between Nevada and Arizona. The power the dam produces is allocated to the states of Nevada, Arizona and California. California consumes around 58%, with Los Angeles using about 15% of that. The states of Nevada and Arizona make up the remainder consuming 23% and 19% respectively.
From Hoover we jumped on the I-15 and headed in the direction of Colorado where our first Tour is scheduled to begin on Monday. We stayed at a place called St. George, which is a sweet little town, nestled down in a bit of a valley in the state of Utah.
