Today was another busy day with four scheduled school visits. Our first school this morning at 8am was Mesa Grande Academy in Calimesa, CA, then we had to make our way back to the Redlands/Loma Linda area for California Preparatory College (CPC) and Loma Linda Academy. CPC is a two-year private college that offers associate degrees in Business, Health Science, and General Studies, and aims to equip its students to either compete an associates degree and transfer to a four-year college or university, or go directly into pre-professional careers or the job market. It's a great concept and has good potential for students seeking an alternative study option I believe.
We joined the entire Loma Linda Academy for school assembly and were able to speak about Avondale for a few minutes before the fair. It's a super-excited school at Loma Linda - the kids seemed to have so much energy and weren't afraid of expressing it! Our final school for the day was Redlands Adventist Academy, not more than 10 kays from Loma Linda Academy.
While at Redlands we bumped into grade one teacher and all-round awesome West Australian Linda Breese (was Dorman). She and her husband, Denny both studied at Avondale College back in the day and are now living back in Denny's homeland.
