The main reason we decided to travel via Tucson, AZ was to visit "The Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. "The Boneyard" or AMARG (Aerospace Maintenance And Regeneration Group) as it is officially known, is a USAF storage and maintenance facility, which takes care of approximately 5000 aircraft. The aircraft stored at the 2,600 acre facility are categorised as either long-term, or flying hold storage and are kept intact for future use....

This morning we left Will's place (in LA) and followed him to his school to pick up our Fair material that he had kindly minded for us while we were back in Australia. Once loaded our plan today was to get to either Phoenix, or Tucson, Arizona. As we knew we would have to stop at Phoenix again in about 10 days time, we decided to push the extra 2hrs on to Tucson.
