I headed back to the hotel for our BBQ dinner and found out that our driver had been rushed off to a clinic as he had chest pains. They eventually diagnosed indigestion or food poisoning and sent him home but he wasn't too good so we were told we had an extra day in this lovely town to relax to give Euan some time to recover.
The BBQ was great, there was even some chicken hearts that someone mistook for oysters. The mistake was soon realised when she ate them so made sure I avoided that plate.
So yesterday was another relaxing day. After brekky spent about 5hrs in the hammock reading and dozing and chatting with others. Michaela and I then decided to have a little splurge and head down to the beach for some lobster. We decided on a trio platter which had king prawns, some deep sea fish and 2 lobsters all for the crazy price of about AUS$45. It came with rice, salad and mashed potato. I'm not even sure if you can get one lobster for that price in a restaurant back home. Along with that we had a couple of cocktails, Frozen Malibu - like a big pineapple slushie with a bit of a kick so a lovely afternoon was had by all.
We were sitting there and we were enthralled by the kids playing. There was this one little boy that just didn't stop moving the whole time. Under the shower he was jumping up and down and then he ran past us, blowing out bubbles and then he was crawling over a seat and then his parents were making a seat his own slippery dip. Made us laugh watching him.
We didn't bother with dinner last night although we did do desert and then back to hotel to find out what was happening today. Ross had taken Euan to a bigger hospital in the morning as he was still not good and they have diagnosed pancreatitis so he is going to be out of action today. A message was left for us last night to be ready to go by 11am today on a public bus. Chilled out in one of the rooms watching a movie and Patty (one of the girls on the trip who is a massage therapist) did some work on my back which is still a little tender.
This morning we had another message to say we have to meet at midday but in the meantime we have to ensure we have everything off the truck we need for the next 2 weeks as we are not going to see the truck till after we get back from our jungle excursion. We are heading out on a private bus (we think) which means we are missing the 2 national parks we were meant to stop at which is unfortunate but the good news is, we also miss out on the camping. Wasn't looking forward to that with my back at the moment.
So off on our new big adventure, this time not in the big yellow truck, but something else, which we await to see....
