I got to go swimming in the ocean with dolphins today. What a way to start the day. We had been told this area is known for dolphins and you could go down to the main beach and organise a boat trip but I didn't want to pay out money on the off chance you would see them, plus I have seen them before. Anyway, after brekky I decided it was time for some exercise and I would go for a walk along the beach. Our hotel is on a bluff and there are stairs down to the beach (just can't go at high tide as water comes right up to cliffs). Anyway, I went left and the next bay over, what do you know, there were dolphins in the water. So dumped my gear and went in for a swim. Had a couple within 5m of me. Fantastic. Had one even playing with some seaweed.
Spent about an hour in the water but then it got a little rough so come out and dried off before heading back to the hotel (exercise forgotten) and crashed on the hammock for a few hours reading and dozing. Went and did some shopping with the girls and bought some more Havaianas before having a lovely fish and prawn dinner.
We arrived here yesterday around midday and after doing lunch in the carpark checked into our fantastic hotel. Hammock on the balcony, swimming pool and seating overlooking the ocean. I went window shopping with Michaela down the main street (basically only one street here that has all the boutiques, restaurants and bars) and tried on a swimsuit. I tell you now, Brazilian extra large is about an Australian small - it just don't fit in what it is meant to......
